Adults and children 12 years and over: take 10 mL every 6 to 8 hours as needed. Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours.

Active: Dextromethorphan HBr 20 mg per 10 mL. Inactive: citric acid, honey, natural lemon flavor, purified water, sodium benzoate, sucralose.

Do not use if you are taking a prescription MAOI or for 2 weeks after stopping an MAOI. Keep out of reach of children.

When should I take cough syrup DM?

DM (dextromethorphan) works best on dry, hacking coughs. If your cough is heavy with mucus, a different formula may serve you better — ask our pharmacists.

Is it safe to take before bed?

Yes — it's alcohol-free and non-drowsy for most people, and an evening dose can quiet nighttime coughing for up to 8 hours.

Can I give it to my child?

This formula is for ages 12 and up. For younger children, please use a pediatric cough product and your pediatrician's guidance.

Does it interact with antidepressants?

Do not use DM if you take an MAOI or within 2 weeks of stopping one. If you take any antidepressant, check with your doctor or pharmacist first.
